VENETIAN PLASTER & DECORATIVE PAINTS

Venetian plaster is a modern term that describes an ancient method of applying a stuccoed surface coating for walls. Venetian plaster comes in variety of grains (fine to course) and is essentially a putty made from fired limestone or marble dust mixed with water. Any pattern and design can be applied from a super smooth mirror like finish to a more heavy textured pitted effect to replicate stone, stencils can also be used in the design.

 

The surface can burnished after application, it develops a finish that has the look of genuine marble (known as polished plaster).

Venetian plaster surface achieved its effect through the use of unique materials applied by a skilled applicator and a trowel. There are also many venetian effect decorative paint products available on the market today that can create a similar effect by applied by trowel or specialist brushes, you can also replicate rust effect should you wish. 

I like to work with Art'e Style, Loggia & Ecorsion products and they are top class, all my Venetian plaster contains genuine marble dust mixed into an acrylic base. My stencils come from Decorama in Italy
